Product Bundle Stock and Line Item Display Issues in Shopware.

Issue Overview

When a product bundle is purchased, the individual products in the bundle are not reserved in stock, leading to an inaccurate stock display. Additionally, the customer needs to hide bundle line items in invoices and documents while ensuring stock management works correctly.


Resolution Steps

Step 1: Stock Reservation for Bundle Items

To ensure that individual bundle items are correctly preserved:

  1. Disable Backward Compatibility Settings:
    • Ensure that all backward compatibility settings related to stock management are disabled. These settings interfere with proper stock reservation when disabled.
    • When this is done, the line item type changes to 'Product,' and stock management functions correctly.

Step 2: Display of Sub-Items in Emails and Documents

To hide bundle line items in invoices and documents:

  1. Enable Custom Line Item Type Setting:

    • If using Pickware, enable the setting "Use a custom line item type instead of the default 'Product' line item type" (see screenshot: Line Item Type Setting).
    • This setting ensures compatibility with Pickware and changes the line item type from 'bundle' to 'product'.
    • If Pickware is not in use, this setting can still be enabled for hiding bundle line items.
  2. Update the Plugin:

    • Ensure you are using the latest version of the plugin, as recent updates have resolved issues with hiding bundle items in documents and invoices.


Notes and Recommendations

  • Pickware Users: This solution works seamlessly with Pickware after enabling the custom line item type setting.
  • Non-Pickware Users: The custom line item type setting is also applicable without Pickware.
  • After enabling the settings, test the setup to confirm that:
    1. Bundle line items are hidden in invoices and documents.
    2. Stock for individual items is reserved correctly.
